Department:Surgical Program – Ambulatory Clinics
Status: PermanentPart-time (must provide availability up to 0.4 FTE)
Hours: Monday to Friday; Days; 8 hour shifts (Hours are subject to change based on operational needs)

This is what you’ll be doing :
Cleaning instruments and stretchers/ chairs. General tidying of the department. Supporting Clinic staff by monitoring supply levels, and stocking supplies as necessary. Assisting nurses with patient care by cleaning and changing linen on stretchers/chairs as needed. Equipment retrieval from throughout the hospital. Other duties to support patient flow as required.

Minimum grade 12 education required
Must have previous ward aide or related health care experience
Experience with surgical instruments/medical supplies (cleaning/stocking) required
Must be able to diplomatically respond to customer requests in a demanding work environment
Must be able to work with minimal supervision and organize and prioritize work
Flexibility and the ability to work quickly in a busy environment
Must be able to respond appropriately to emergency situations
Repetitive standing & walking, frequently pushing patients on stretchers, lifting boxes of IV solutions weighing approximately 30 lbs., and bending to clean stretchers
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential
Satisfactory employment record and good attendance record required.
Salary: $18.23 to $22.79 per hour
